The Assam government has officially released a notification inviting applications for an extensive recruitment drive, offering over 10,000 teaching positions in the education department.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed confidence in surpassing the commitment made before the 2021 Assembly polls. He stated, “We are dedicated to not only meeting but exceeding our promise of creating over 1 lakh government jobs in the most transparent manner in Assam’s history.”
The BJP party, now in power for the second consecutive term, had pledged over 1 lakh government jobs during the elections. The current administration, led by Chief Minister Sarma, is poised to fulfill this commitment.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu shared updates on the recruitment process, mentioning that the Directorate of Secondary Education has advertised 1424 positions for Post Graduate Teachers and 7249 positions for Graduate Teachers in Arts, Science, Hindi, and Sanskrit across Provincialised Secondary Schools.
Additionally, the Directorate of Elementary Education has announced 3800 vacancies for Assistant Teachers in LP Schools and 1750 positions for Assistant Teachers, Science Teachers, and Hindi Teachers in UP Schools.
Senior Minister Pijush Hazarika enthusiastically endorsed the recruitment drive, stating, “Good news for the teaching community! The Government of Assam is offering over 10,000 teaching posts. The vision of HCM Dr. @himantabiswa will be realized, marking a historic achievement in job recruitment conducted in a fair and transparent manner.”
